Lower Providence Baptist Church dates back over 200 years. It originated back to the “Holy Experiment” of William Penn when Baptists from Wales settled in the township of Lower Providence.
The current stone church is the fourth building on the site, was built in 1877, and used materials from the third church.
CG is an ordained minister of the American Baptist churches who has served as the Youth Director of the Salvation Army in Boyertown, PA and as the Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Newark, DE.
CG received his Bachelor's Degree in Youth Ministry from Eastern University in 2005, and his Master's in Divinity from Palmer Seminary in 2011.
CG has a passion for opening the church doors to new members, fostering the spiritual well-being of existing members, leading praise and worship, incorporating new music and technology into worship services, and growing the youth ministry programs at the church.
CG, his wife, Liz, and their son, Owen work alongside each other to further the many wonderful ministries at LPBC and they welcome you to join them for worship on Sunday morning
Welcome to Lower Providence Baptist Church! My name is Pastor CG Coats and am excited to meet you. As I describe LPBC to newcomers, I gravitate towards words such as “community,” “friends,” and “family.” We are a group of people committed to following Jesus Christ. This means that we worship Him with vigor and joy. We encourage prayer, both in church and throughout our everyday lives. We love people outside of the church through generosity, invitation, and compassion. Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at LPBC. And once here, we pray that people will meet God where they are at and, as a result, give their lives to Jesus Christ. We want this for you. Come as you are. Check us out on a Sunday morning sometime but, more importantly, seek the truth of God that can only be known when one knows Jesus.
